Ron B. Laskey of Warren passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 5:17 p.m. in Windsor House at Champion. He was 76 years old.
Ron was born on August 6, 1944 in Toledo, the son of the late Stanley and Helen Lewis Laskey.
Mr. Laskey moved to the Mahoning Valley in 1971 and is best known for his on-air radio personality “Dr. Rock” that he started in 1982 on 1440 WRRO. He was honorably inducted into the Broadcaster Hall of Fame. Prior to his radio career, Ron was behind the scenes as an engineer for various radio stations. Following his retirement, Ron was able to enjoy both of his passions at the same time. Showing off his beautiful classic car at car shows throughout the valley and being the DJ for the show at the same time. He was a member of Champion Church of the Nazarene and known for his wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by the love of his life Patti; 4 sons, Scott, Ronnie, Donnie, and Robert; 2 daughters, Kim, and Vanessa; a sister Barb; and numerous grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
