Ruth Ona Beveridge

Ruth Ona Beveridge of Warren passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 8:53 a.m. in Community Skilled Health Care Center. She was 90.

Ruth was born in on June 30, 1928 in Vienna, the daughter of the late Charles and Dessie Dent Lockhart.

She was a 1946 graduate of Mathews High School. Ms. Beveridge was employed for Hart’s Jewelry in Warren for many years. Following her retirement, she worked as a switchboard operator for the Niles Times and a cashier at Cottage Market in Niles.

Ruth lived all over the world, having experiences that others only dream of. In her spare time, she loved to paint, do ceramics and knit. She had a special place in her heart for her dogs. Ruth cherished the times she spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. There was always a special place at Ruth’s house or a warm meal at her kitchen table for her son’s friends and neighborhood kids. She was a loving and kindhearted mother and friend.

She is survived by 2 sons, Robert G. Switzer of Warren and Duane Beveridge of Vidalia, GA; a brother, Delmar Lockhart of Vienna; 3 grandchildren, Bella Dessi Ona Beveridge, Chelsea Beveridge, and Braden Ghrist; a great grandchild, Aubrey Joyce Beveridge.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a daughter; 3 brothers, Chuck, Roy, and Burly Lockhart; 2 sisters, Gladys and Dorothy.

At Ruth’s request, there will be no calling hours of funeral service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446.
