Shamika Marcel Redd a lifelong resident of Warren passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 1:54 a.m. in Trumbull Regional Medical Center. She was 43.

Shamika was born on July 12, 1976 in Warren, the daughter of the late George Brantley and Helen Williams Redd.

She attended Warren City School System. Ms. Redd was a loving fiancé, mother, sister, and grandmother. Shamika was the neighborhood mom, from having open arms if you where in need of comfort an open door if you where in need of a place to stay and was always there if you needed someone to talk to. She made sure no one ever left her home hungry; she was an amazing cook. Most importantly she cherished her family and the memories they made together.

She is survived by; her fiancé and companion for 14 years, Jamin Williamson of Warren; 4 daughters, Ms. Shanikqua Williamson, Ms. Chris’tionia Wright, Ms. Christen Wright, and Ms. Chris’ Style Wright all of Warren; a son, Christopher Wright of Warren; 4 sisters, Ms. Darlene Dukes of Cleveland, Ms. Valerie Manson of Columbus, Ms. Lisa (Larry) Smith and Ms. Christina Redd both of Warren; a half-brother, John Redd of Youngstown; 5 half-sisters, Ms. Phyllis Brantley, Ms. Georgette Brantley and Ms. Helen Brantley all of Akron, Ms. Donna (Ruben) Taylor and Ms. Gwendolyn Redd both of Youngstown; a grandson, William “BJ” McKee; Ne’Le Powell who affectionately referred to her as Mimi; special friends, Ms. Tasha Johnson, Ms. Tynica Price, Ms. Candice Fox, Ms. Tennille Baugh, and Ms. Carla Baran all of Warren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shamika was preceded in death by 7 brothers, Jay Redd, Roger Redd, Larry Redd, Vincent Redd, Timothy Redd, Curtis Redd, and Morris Brantley; 2 sisters, Ms. Robin Putnam, and Ms. Autto Calhoun.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Eric U. Brown Sr. Pastor of York Avenue Church of God.

Inurnment will take place in Oakwood Cemetery.
